    Configure MS Office runs every time (Office 2007 /

    Having replaced my hard drive, I reinstalled Office 2007.
    Every time I open Excel, the Configure MS Office runs. This only happens with Excel, no other suite components. I would have thought that once the configuration has run that would be it. Now I'm jumping in and aborting the process just so I can get some work done!

    I have run the diagnostic check, but nothing came up.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

    Try logging in as Administrator, then start Excel and let Windows configure Office. Hopefully it should be OK for other users then.

    Thanks for the suggestion Hans, however the problem still remains.

    Should I try uninstalling and reinstalling?

    This problem often occurs if there are traces of an earlier installation of MS Office, but that seems unlikely if you installed Office 2007 on a new hard disk. Still, you might do a check for older versions.
    Also, is your Office 2007 up-to-date? (Service Pack 1 was released last month). If so, uninstalling completely and reinstalling while logged in as administrator might be a good idea.
