    My Computer icon (Windows XP)

I accidentally deleted my "My Computer" icon...oops

I thought a restart of the pc would make the icon reappear. it hasnt

usually you can create a shortcut by right mouse clicking and "Send to Desktop", however the My Computer in Windows Exporoer doesnt have this on its menu shortcut.

Any ideas on how I can get My Computer icon back.

    Many thanks

Right-click an empty part of the desktop.
Select Properties from the popup menu.
    Activate the Desktop tab.
    Click Customize Desktop...
Tick the check box "My Computer".
    OK your way out.

    thank you Hans

    This worked.

it took me alittle longer as, the Desktop tab was disabled (removed) from the Display Properties window via a policy. I managed to track down the registry key associated with this tab to re-enable the Desktop tab, to access and tick the checkbox "My Computer"

    thank you again Hans
