    IF statement help (2003)

    greetings....

This is probably an easy one, but I am not quite sure how to do this. Here is what I am doing:

In a pivot table, I am displaying the number of days an item is open for a given user. Sometimes the user has more than one item open with the same number of days. I am converting the number of days to the number of years open (in a cell outside of the pivot table). However since the pivot table groups data and does not show the number of days for "duplicate" days I need to refer to the prior cell (directly above) to base the calc for years.

    See Pict.

    thanks,
    Brad

Why would you want to repeat that information?
I'd add a calculated column to the original data.

I could, but Not sure I want the field to show within the pivot table.

Why not? It's a lot easier than placing formulas next to the pivot table and having to manage them when the pivot table changes. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
