Open Word in Normal view from attachment. (2003)

    Hi,

Is there a way to force Outlook to open a Word attachment in Normal or even Print Layout View? Its quite annoying when it persists in opening in this Reading View.
    Any ideas?

    TX
    Regards,

This is a setting in Word, not in Outlook:
    - Select Tools | Options...
    - Activate the General tab.
    - Clear the check box "Allow starting in Reading Layout".
    - Click OK.

Sorry for the wrong forum, I thought it would have been an Outlook setting!

I went to Word and I looked for the setting in the 2007 version.

    - Click on the Office button
    - Select Word Options at the bottom
    - Choose the Popular Category button on the left list.
    - De-Activate the circled option in the screenshot.

    Thanks Hans.

So why did you mention 2003 as version?

Re: Open Word in Normal view from attachment. (2003)

The question came up today in a Word lecture. We were busy with Word 2003 and I told someone I will find out about how to change setting in Office 2003.

I thought that I would add to the thread where to go in 2007 since I use it on my PC here at home and for those who may be using 2007 also.
    Tx again!

    Rudi
