    WordArt in Master? (PP 2007)

I've seen them before--where you can click on a wordart held in the master view of a slide and edit it. I know I have. I need to do that because Wordart has a lot of formatting options in 2007. But just putting the wordart into the master doesn't make it editable from the slide. What's the trick? Thanks for any advice.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

If a WordArt object has been inserted into the slide master, you have to be in Slide Master view to edit it - you won't be able to do anything with the object in Nornal view, except hide it.
Chances are that the WordArt object has been moved to the background, so there may be other objects in front of it. You may have to experiment a bit to select it.

In previous versions, you can add the Select Multiple Objects button to a toolbar (see Select Multiple Objects tool (PowerPoint 2000+)); I suppose you can add it to the Quick Access Toolbar in PowerPoint 2007. When you click this button, you can select objects from a list.

You can set word art styles on the master in 2007 or in certain layouts

Click in "Click to edit whatever" placeholder
    Click "Drawing Tools"
Choose your style in Word Art Styles

This style will be used in slides that have this master / Layout
