    fp5Autl.dll (2002)

I had a computer crash on the computer I usually use to update my website. The website is done in FrontPage. The backup computer does not have FrontPage loaded. I simply copied the program file from Computer A to Computer B. When I try to run it I get a message saying "Cannot load fp5Autl.dll" and then a second message "Cannot load fp5Autl.dll". Any way to make this work, I'm desperate. I won't get my regular computer back for at least a week.
    Thanks

    Hi Charlotte

If you can open Frontpage on Computer B
Click Help | Detect and Repair

This should fix any missing DLL files and/or errant files on your machine <img src=/S/crossfingers.gif border=0 alt=crossfingers width=17 height=16>

No, that's the problem, it won't open. I get the messages before it opens.

"I simply copied the program file from Computer A to Computer B"

You can't simply copy the program file. You must install the program from the FP CD.

    Re: fp5Autl.dll (2002)

In addition to Rebel's reply: installing a program involves much more than copying some files to the program folder. In many cases, DLLs are installed in the system folder, and information about the program and its components is entered into the Registry. Without the auxiliary files and the Registry information, the program won't work correctly. That's why simply copying the program folder from Computer A to Computer B doesn't work.

Thank you both. I did know that, but I was hoping. Sometimes things that are not suppose to work, do....

Take a look at Microsoft® Expression®. This is the follow on product to FP. You can download a fully functional 60 day trial. That should get you by until you get your PC back. You may find you like it so much you'll upgrade to it. The upgrade cost is very reasonable.
