    Watched Threads

To all Australian members of the Lounge: Please help me. For some obscure reason Optus have deemed that the Watched Threads contain spam, there is a lot of this in the cattle paddocks.

    My answer from HanV:

Mails from the Lounge to you bounced repeatedly a few days ago, so notifications were turned off. Optusnet decided that Lounge notifications contained spam or unwanted content. You might take it up with Optusnet.

I have taken up the issue with Optus, alas no response. certainly I will letter every magazine and encourage all friends and others not to open an account with Optus, there is a lot of publicity about Telstra (my previous ISP) and their attitude. Optus hide behind the screen and get away with the same behaviour.

    Re: Watched Threads

I am now lost in this matter:
Optus say it is up to the lounge to provide them with a header of the rejected messages.
I did send the following to HanV, am would like to know what (if any) progress has been made. Please help
Hi Hans, I hope you recall my message regarding the non receipt of my watched threads, this e-mail I guess is self explanatory but I cannot provide the answers. It is administrative from the Lounge.

I did place a message in the Lounge Matters forum yesterday, post 688511.

    http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.p...sb=5&o=0&fpart=

I have had a gutful of this provider and they will realise that I will not give up until I get service, every talkback radio station in addition to every computer magazine, local & suburban newspapers will read all these messages. I have tried to contact their Customer Service Department, they have not returned my calls.

I do not support spam or porn in any manner or form, but I cannot accept why all users should suffer with blanket bans to make it easy for providers. Cars are a source of Global Warming do we just take cars of a particular model away from everybody? You will notice that the reply did not address why the lounge had been banned, maybe the word "lounge"!!!!!

The response I received from Optus is as follows:
    Dear Edward,

    Thank you for your email.

Could you please ask the administrators of this domain to send the headers of the bounce back messages to you, then forward them to us as a reply to this email.

We are more than happy to look into this for you but we cannot move forward until we receive the headers.

We look forward to your reply.

If you have any further questions regarding the above information, please call our Customer Support Centre on 13 39 37 (24 Hours x 7 Days)

    Kind Regards,

    Alfred

I have already deleted the bounced e-mail notifications, but if I receive one again, I'll forward it to you.

    Re: Watched Threads

    Thanks Hans
Does this mean that I have to subscribe to the watched threads again to start the process?

Check your profile to see what subscriptions you have opted to receive - if they are still selected, they will still be being sent. The same goes for notification of replies - if you have selected that option, they will be sent in the future.

    Re: Watched Threads

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "reselected watched threads".

Are you expecting to get notifications of posts made by anyone to anyone else in any thread you have listed in your Watched Threads section in your control panel?
Or are you referring to boards you have subscribed to receive daily digests of?

    Re: Watched Threads

Or are you referring to boards you have subscribed to receive daily digests of? This is what I am referring to, due to my poor health I have had many hours of entertainment from the lounge. I try all the "Software Finds and Wants" and have found some useful products. They generally arrive late afternoon in Australia and it enlightens my evenings.

    Re: Watched Threads

You *are* subscribed to digests from Software Finds and Wants, so in theory you should receive them.
If you don't, it must be caused by the problems mentioned in <post:=680,387>post 680,387</post:>, for I haven't received notification recently of mails to you being undeliverable.

    Re: Watched Threads

Thanks Hans, I guess the best action for me to take is to place a bi-weekly message in this thread on the state of the messages.

    Re: Watched Threads

I don't know who pressed what button but! To-day I received my watched threads.

I will post again in a week if there aren't changes in the meantime.

My most sincere thanks to all who achieved this outcome, in particular to HansV who must detest seeing my posts, thanks Hans

    Re: Watched Threads

I don't detest seeing your posts at all. It's useful to know when things go wrong.

I don't think we've done anything on our side; apparently Optus decided not to blacklist mail from wopr.com any more. Let's hope you keep receiving the e-mails <img src=/S/crossfingers.gif border=0 alt=crossfingers width=17 height=16>

    Re: Watched Threads

That's caused by the problem mentioned in <post:=680,387>post 680,387</post:>, not by Optus. I'm afraid you'll have to live with it for the moment.
