Formulas (Don't know how else to put it...) (Exce

I am looking for a formula that would output a number, no more than 31, that would increase by ones until there is a certain number of rows of data in a worksheet. I thought about using a VLOOKUP, but I really couldn't get it right. Any thoughts?

If you want to count the number of non-blank cells in a column, say column D, you can use something like =COUNTA(D). To limit it to a maximum of 31, use

    =MIN(COUNTA(D),31)

If you want something else, please try to explain clearly what you want the formula to return.

Good enough. I can work with that.
