Confusion after power outage (XP SP2)

We had a 75 mph wind gust here in Juneau the other night, and it took the power out all over town. I was running my home desktop computer at the time, and, now that the power is back on and I've rebooted a couple of times, I have some odd goings-on. My computer's clock can't find either of the two RPC servers to synchronize itself, and my remote desktop won't connect to my office computer. According to windows firewall, 3389 is open, and, according to my Router, it's open on there. When I attempt to telnet to the office computer, my home computer can't find the IP. I rebooted the office computer, too. Any help?

Run a disk check. There's a good chance that you have some corrupted information on the hard drive, as Windows would have been unable to complete writing to the disk when the sudden power loss occurred.

Did you check the IP address on the office PC? If the IP address is not configured to be static it may change when the PC is re-booted.
