    Field Formatting (2007)

I'm using a field for the first time in the new version. I'm putting a Fill-In in a header.

I had a typed and formatted header. I removed some text and replaced it with a Fill-In.

Now, the first word that I fill in retains the formatting of the header, but everything after the first space reverts to some sort of default setting. This seems to happen whether or not the * mergeformat switch is included or not.

P.S. Where do you get Version/Service in 2007 now that they don't have Help/About?

    Try this:
    - Right-click the field and select Toggle Field Codes to see the field code.
    - Change the * MERGEFORMAT switch to * CHARFORMAT.
    - Select the entire field and apply the desired formatting (or press Ctrl+Space to reset to the style formatting).
    - Press F9 to hide the field codes and update the field.

In regard to your P.S, the version of Word in Office 2007 is in Word Options.

Click on the button at top left, then "Word Options", then "Resources" then "About Microsoft Office Word". The old information box that previously appeared under "Help/About" is there.
