Narrator Won't Shut Up (Excel 2003)

This past weekend, I discovered the Narrator, only for Excel (I do not usually have the sound turned on unless it's a weekend and no one else is in the office). I was working in Access and Word with nothing odd, then switched to Excel. All of a sudden, a voice started telling me what I'd input.

I am an administrator on this computer (supposedly), and made sure all the check marks are off in the Accessibility Options areas. The Utility Manager says Narrator is not running, but it keeps talking to me, if the speakers are turned on.

Any suggestions for where else I should check?

    Thanks!

    Nancy

Make sure the Text to Speech toolbar is visible, then make sure the right hand button (speak on enter) is not pressed.

    Glad to help. I must admit, I had forgotten about it too! <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
