    Changing users (XP Pro)

I have myself as an Administrator User. I have the Admininstrator as a user. I've turned off Guest. Somehow, all my music is under the Administrator's user account. I would like to simplify my life by getting rid of myself as a User and just having the Administrator account as my default. 1) Is that a good idea or should I keep myself? If so, how do I get the music moved (and anything else)? just drag and drop in explorer? I am also interested in unpartitioning my drive so that I have just a C: drive with WIndows XP on it and an Everything else drive. Any suggestions. As always, thanks in advance.

1.) You should keep yourself as a user. It is always a good idea to have another user account in the administrator group just in case the one you logon with gets corrupted and you can't use it. You should not use the builtin administrator account for daily use. If someone compromises your PC then the administrator account will let them do anything at all. See Mark's Blog : Running as Limited User - the Easy Way for information on running as a limited user. NOTE: there is quite a lot of application software that has difficulties running as a limited user.

To move your music just drag and drop it with explorer.

There are several products that will allow you to manage partitions better than the built in disk management. See Paragon Partition Manager - full-range hard disk partitioning software, Hard disk drive management software, partitioning manager and partition recovery utility, TeraByte Unlimited :: Boot Manager :: Partition Manager :: Drive Image :: Disk Copy :: Drive Wipe :: Hard Drive Utilities and Norton PartitionMagic 8.0: Partition Software - Partition Hard Drive.

To add to Joe's list of partition managers, I have to include my favorite: ACRONIS DISK DIRECTOR

Easy to use and full featured.

Which is the second link in my list. I just neglected to change the title from the HTML title. Sorry for the confusion.
