    Red X (2000)

I just solved a problem that others may find useful. I created a presentation on my NT machine consisting of lots of embedded maps. The total file size was about 530k. There were about 75 slides. When I tried to view the presentation on a Win 98 machine (also running Powerpoint 2000) in slide sorter view, the first page of slides looked fine, but all subsequent pages (about slides 20-75) were scrambled and many of the graphics were replaced by red X's. Knowledgebase suggested changing video settings--tried to no avail. The work around was to split the presentation into 5 parts, with only enough slides that would fit in slide sorter view on the 98 machine--about 15 slides per presentation. Voila, all slides look fine now. Not sure what's going on, but thought the world might like to know.
