    Global Categories (Outlook 2003 SP3)

I'd be grateful for some help.

We run Outlook and Exchange Server. Through that we are able to share information across the company - diaries, contacts, etc. When setting up meetings, we check the schedules of other attendees.

So far so good and so standard.

I use categories a lot. I have a number of personal categories which I have added to my own Master Category list on my PC. I should like to share these across the company but I can't see how.

Logically, I feel that it should be possible to create globally accessible categories but I can't find any reference in the Help files or on the usual Microsoft sources. Am I simply using the wrong search terms, am I being thick or is it impossible?

    Many thanks in advance

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge.

I don't think you can create globally accessible categories. You can export your category list and make it available to others: see How to migrate custom categories to other users in Outlook 2002 and in Outlook 2003 and Backing Up Master Categories.

Many thanks for your prompt response Hans.

It's good to know that I wasn't simply looking in the wrong place.
