Export a chart (Excel 2003)

Is there a way to export a chart to maybe a jpeg or eps format?

Good evening

Probably not the most elegant way but I made a quick pie chart and then copied it (Ctrl C) opened Powerpoint and pasted it (Ctrl C) right clicked and then 'save as picture' and you can save it as any format.

In addition to the above methods. If you select anything, such a chart, or nothing, and holds Shift and click at Edit you will get a new option: Copy Picture. It shows a dialog box with three options to copy (As screen picture/bitmap and as printed picture). Then you can paste where you want; in a graphic program and save in the format you want.

(Edited by Jezza on 25-Jan-08 01:00. To change typo)
Hi There

If you are happy with VBA in Excel then you could put this in a Module:

Sub ChartPict_save()
Dim FileName As String
Dim Pict As Object
Dim Charts
Dim i As Integer

i = 1
For Each Pict In ActiveSheet.ChartObjects
Set Charts = Pict.Chart
FileName = ThisWorkbook.Path & Application.PathSeparator & "chart" & i & ".jpg"
Charts.Export FileName:=FileName, FilterName:="jpg"
i = i + 1
Next
Set Charts = Nothing
End Sub

This loops through your worksheet and saves the charts as chart1.gif, chart2.gif

This loops through your worksheet and saves the charts as chart1.jpg, chart2.jpg. Seems you have been working with too many gif files lately. PS: Nice macro BTW!

Neat tip Argus

The crafty so and so's do not even have it as a greyed out item in the Edit list so that you would at least stand a fighting chance of knowing it was there!!
