    Split Screen And Scrolling (2003)

Is there any way to allow, when a screen is split, for vertical scrolling in both screens?
    Thanks.

If you split the screen horizontally, you can scroll each pane vertically independently of the other one.
If you split the screen vertically, the two panes will scroll vertically simultaneously.

You can use Window | New Window to open a new window on the same workbook. The two windows act completely independently of each other (well, not the contents, of course).

I could be mistaken, but does 2003 not allow synchronous scrolling when viewing sheets side by side? This is available in 2007, but I recall something similar in 2003!!??

Yes, it is available in Excel 2003 too (it was introduced in that version)

Thanks, everyone, but what I am really looking for is independent scrolling capability.

Re: Split Screen And Scrolling (2003)

I would like for each screen to have its own, independent scrolling tools, both horizontally and vertically, regardless of whether the screen is split horizontally or vertically.

Re: Split Screen And Scrolling (2003)

Independent scrolling would require each pane to have its own horizontal and vertical scrollbar - this would take up a lot of screen real estate. Excel (at least 2003 and before, I don't know about 2007) don't offer this capability.
But you could open multiple windows on the same sheet, and arrange them side by side or in a 2x2 grid. Each window can be scrolled independently.

Re: Split Screen And Scrolling (2003)

2007 does not have this capability. The best is to use the New Window option and tile the copies of the windows for independent scrolling, as you mention.
