    Hi there

It certainly will be I'm afraid. This type of software uses a method called Onion Routing which uses a network of proxy-servers that disguise your original IP address.

I toyed with Tor once and whilst quite fun to search around the web, it was horrifically slow. However some servers have become wise to it as it was being used by hackers. Another reason people use this is to utilise downloading from P2P sites.

I am sure you know this but if you are using this type of software to "hide" yourself from the web, you can still be detectable, if you do transactions and use passwords to access sites

Sorry, didn't mean to be so short. Welcome to Woody's Lounge !!

If your system slowed down right after you installed the software, then the first thing to do is check to see that it is properly configured. Because of the nature of this software, it might have that effect. I'm not personally familiar with the program so I really can't say. If it is configured correctly, the next step would be to remove the program and see if things return to normal. HTH <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
