    Loss of functions (2000)

I seem to have lost some of the functionality in Word, like
    - the AUTOTEXT feature, it comes up blank (usually I get a list of choices, now nothing
    - the SPELL CHECK feature, it doesn't list choices
I tried to REPAIR from the CD and that did nothing I could see. I copied a dictionary file from another working computer and that didn't work.
I haven't changed anything in Office, nor have I added new software to that machine. Is there something I'm missing or is there a virus I missed?
Thanks in advance for your time.
