Spell checking reverts to multiple languages (Word 2003 - Service Pack 3)

We have a user that has set their default spell checking to English U.K. When she runs the spell check procedure over "certain" documents it seems to revert to English U.S. France, etc. What might be causing this behaviour? How can we stop this from occuring?

    Thanks

Let the user look at Tools | Language | Set Language...
If the check box "Automatically detect language" has been ticked, Word will try to determine the language used in a sentence, so it may spontaneously switch to French if it encounters a few French or French-looking words.
