    Emoticons in 2007 (2007)

Does Outlook 2007 have its own emoticons hiding somewhere? They don't have to be animated -- just the usual smiley-faced suspects will do.

AutoCorrect should change and :-) to a smiling face, and :-( to a frowning face and :| and :-| to a neutral face. If not, check Office button > Outlook (or Word or ...) Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options. Make sure that 'Replace text as you type' is on. You can add autocorrect entries in this dialog.

Thanks Hans. I hadn't realized that you need to type the text version first. Eudora spoiled me with a set of pre-installed click-and-use emoticons. I guess I need to find third party software. Can someone recommend one?

    Thanks, Hans.

A Google search will turn up oodles of smiley collections and add-ins for e-mail, some free, others commercial.
    Just one example: IncrediMail
