    Transposing data (2003)

I have a table that was imported from excel. It has 95 columns and 650 rows. Column 1 has a project number. Columns 4 through 95 are employees rates. The intersection of the row and a column is the billing rate for the employee for a particular project. I need to extract data to create a table that has three fields: Project, Employee number and rate. The field names on the columns 4 through 95 are the employee numbers. I am certain that I can create some VBA to read each row and then loop through the columns to extract the project then extract the name of the column (hence the employee number) and finally the rate. I just don't know where to start. Is there anyone that can help?

    Thanks
    Tom

If you search this forum for normalize you should find some examples, such as <post#=366,314>post 366,314</post#> .

Also see Normalize/Denormalize on Roger's Access Library site. You'll have to fine tune any code you find for your situation.
