    Weird a:hover action? (WinXP/FrontpageXP)

    Hi folks, I'm at my wit's end here - I'm setting up a new website and I just can't track down what's causing this one thing! Every time you hover on a link, the text goes pink. Pink, I ask you!

    I'm using CSS and I've tried everything I can think of to get that pink off, but I cannot find where it's being set and the CSS file won't override it (or at least, I haven't managed to make it do so as yet!). There are no themes on the site.

    Can anyone suggest where I might find the setting that's doing this, please?

    I would be most grateful!

    The addess is www.berylm.com/pr-n-kmt (at the moment) and there's nothing confidential on it, so feel free to poke about the source code as much as you like!

    Hi Beryl

    Three problems that should get rid of the problem.

    1) Delete

    <pre><style fprolloverstyle>A:hover {color: #FF00FF; font-weight: bold}
    </style></pre>

    From each page as this is taking precedence over the css file, next

    2)Change the order of the link elements in the CSS file to read
    <pre>a {color:663300}
    a:link {color:990000}
    a:visited {color:663300}
    a:hover {color:336600}
    a:active {color:CC3300}
    </pre>

    Links in CSS should always go in the following order link, visited, hover, active, best remembered using LoVeHAte.

    3) See attached file, CSS files do not need the html, head or any other HTML mark up in it.

    That should solve your problem

    Arrrggghh! I checked over and over again and I could have sworn there were no style tags left in the headers!!

    Thanks, Jezza, that worked perfectly!
