Track Changes shows up shaded (Word 2003)

I have a user who creates documents using tack changes, usually using the blue underline for insertions and red strike through for deletions, although sometime changes are marked by author. When it is emailed out, everything looks okay. The recipient opens the attachment, they tell us the track changes are shaded. Any idea what could be causing this? I don't see shading as an option for how to mark changes using track changes. Thanks for any help.

Could they ask the recipient to make a screenshot showing the shading of tracked changed and send it (directly or indirectly) to you?

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I can't get that from the recipient.

Hmm... I don't see an option to shade text with tracked changes either, so I have no idea. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

Word 2007 has the ability to shade cells in a table -- any chance this has anything to do with it?

I created a document in Word 2003, turned on track changes and converted some of the text into a table. In 03, the only thing marked was the red strikeout text that was "deleted" from outside the table and the red underlined text "added" into the new table.

When I opened the document in Word 2007, the table cells were shaded baby blue, the default shading color for an addition to a table. Pink is the default for deleted cells. The text was still red with underline, however.

    Maybe? <img src=/S/scratch.gif border=0 alt=scratch width=25 height=29>
