    WMP 11 Video Display size

I use Vista Home Premium and broadband. When streaming video or playing a newly downloaded video file, I cannot see it at full screen size (15" laptop pc). I have tried the WMP settings at 'Fit video to player on start' and on 'Resize' but neither option will let me see the video at the larger size. However, some of the videos that I have previously installed can be played at full screen size!
    What am I doing wrong?
The laptop apparantly uses Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset family and according to the 'update' information it is the latest update ... is there an update problem as some months ago I could play streamed video at full screen size ... even though the video could be a bit blurred. Is the latest chipset/WMP 11 update such that you can now only view streamed video at 100% size?
Hope I have managed to explain my problem ... I am not an expert, just a user!

Re: WMP 11 Video Display size

What happens if you double-click within the screen showing the video?
If it works, double-click again to restore to its previous size.

    Thanks for your contact.
Tried the double click but whilst it enlarges to full screen there is no picture. I should add that the full screen picture shows for just a split second and then blanks out.

Try one of these WMP keyboard shortcuts.

I have come across the display (picture) blanking out before - I think it was if the WMP window was moved whilst playing streaming video. What happens if you pause/start?

    1. (What happens if you pause/start?)
No improvement, still a blank screen
    2. (Try one of these WMP keyboard shortcuts)
    As above
3.( I have come across the display (picture) blanking out before - I think it was if the WMP window was moved.)
If I try to enlarge the WMP screen by using the corner then the video goes blank eg any oversizing causes it to blank.

Hope that you can think of more options! Don't these things annoy ... spend more time 'sorting out' than 'using' nowadays!

Re: WMP 11 Video Display size

Can you provide a link to a problem video?
Some sites will NOT allow the videos to full screen as they were clipped to be viewed with all of the ads showing.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/
is one of the links ... it is ABC Australia and they do not have adverts. Click on 'Watch Programme (Windows Media)'
Thanks for taking 'time out' to assist.

    Ron,
Not solving your problem, but to make a URL "clickable", just type it as a bracketed url= followed by bracketed /url
    See HELP 19

    In your example, ABC
    BOB

    Today it is called golf!

Works fine for me also with WMP 11.0.6000.6344. Is you system up-to-date with patches? Do you have the most current video driver?

Re: WMP 11 Video Display size

    Thanks guys for your guidence.
I have checked again all that you both have kindly suggested, checked my driver is current version and the updates for WMP and all seems to be OK. My WMP version is 11.0.6000.6344 so I am really baffled as to what can be the problem. Is, for example, there a 'Restore all Defaults' for WMP just in case something has been wrongly clicked in the past ... can't seem to find it??
Also I find on further checking that if I go to the 7.30 Report web page that I previously listed as an example, click on the 'Subscribe to our Vodcast', click onto say 'Recent Items ... Corruption inquiry recommends criminal charges [mp4] [wmv] (07/02/2008) ' and click the wmv option, then I can play the vodcast at full screen!

How much harder can it get! Help!
