Cannot acces the computer (XP. Vista)

    Hi all,
A friend of mine has bought e new computer but did not activate windows, when she tries to login she gets a message activate windows now and is unable to activate because her internet connections is not configured, Is there a way to access the computer and install the internet connection and then activate windows. I can take her pc at my home as i have a router and i should be able to activate it that way, but i don't want to carry the pc on the train for 2 hours.

    Cheers,

It should be possible to make a telephone call to Microsoft to obtain the activation code. If I remember correctly, there is an option in the activation procedure for this, it should show the telephone number to use.

Does windows give the telephone option after the 30 days period? I know it does before the 30 days period.

    Cheers

I have never had to do that, so I don't know. But according to How to activate your software, the phone number for the UK is 0870 60 10 100.
