Microsoft Office Outlook Internet Calendar (2003 SP2)

    Hi,

A client of mine invited me with the following email (yep, I changed the name and added blah, blah, blah below

Wile E. Coyote has invited you to add the "Wile E. Coyote_Calendar" Internet Calendar subscription to Microsoft Office Outlook.

You can open this calendar on any computer with a Internet Calendar compatible program installed, such as Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. To view and subscribe to this calendar, copy and paste the following Web address into your Web browser:

    webcal://calendars.office.microsoft.com/pubcalstorage/blah, blah, blah/Wile E. Coyote_Calendar.ics

So - do I need to be using Outlook 2007 or can I use 2003 which is what I currently have installed?

If I can use Outlook 2003 - how do I access this page? When I click on that link I get a Locate Link Browser prompt. What do I do now?

    Thanks!
    -Stephen

    Thanks!
    -Stephen

It appears to be an Outlook 2007-specific feature. Probably Outlook 2007 associates the webcal protocol with itself during the installation process so you don't get that message.

Googling around, it appears you can attain a similar functionality in Outlook 2003 with the following open source software: http://sourceforge.net/projects/remotecalendars, http://remotecalendars.sourceforge.net/.

I haven't tried it myself. Hope this helps.

Hey, thank you! I'll give it a shot and let you know here in a bit. I found an updated version of SpamBayes while here too. Yeah!
    Thanks,

Hmm, this appears to work only with Google calendar. Do you agree?

(Edited by jscher2000 on 11-Feb-08 12:32. )
Hmm, I thought the documentation referred to "any public iCalendar"? I think they have a support forum, so hopefully someone there can make it work with Microsoft's site.

Added: Those forums are over here.
