    CD/DVD Disc Space

Hi everyone - here is a question that I should be able to answer myself but due to brain strain - simply cannot!
I have some CD's or DVD's (can't tell - out of the package and the type you can print on the topside so it is blank.) Checked properties as I always do before I burn anything and I got available bytes = 0 and used bytes = 0. Huh? I know this is basic but sometimes it's the basic stuff that gets me!!! <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15>
    Besides, it'll give everyone something to chuckle at! <img src=/S/clown.gif border=0 alt=clown width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>
    Please help. Thanks.

What software are you using to check the properties? If it's burning software, it should tell you the capacity; whereas Windows Explorer will tell you zero if it has nothing to read from it available i.e. if it's a blank.

I acquired a set of those that the top side white for printing. Looking at the other side, close to the inner writeable area, there is etched 'CD-R' followed by some product code numbers. See if you can find any info in the area.
