    proposed VBA poll (all)

I'm curious as to where VBAers of Woody's Lounge do their "thing".
Mine is mainly in Word, with dabbles in Excel, Access and PPT.
I recently did a little trick in Front Page and another one in Outlook. I've looked at Project VBA.

In order to set up a poll I'd need to know which Microsoft applications receive VBA attention from members, after which I could set up a formal poll.

So, for this first stage, if you have ever programmed in VBA in other than Word, Excel, PPT, Access, FrontPage, Project or Outlook, might you respond to this message with the desktop application I've overlooked?
    Thanks.

I've done a (very) little in MapPoint, though strictly speaking it was in Excel, but using MapPoint.

I would add Visio and Corel Draw. I have also used vbscript in html, hta and vbs files.

note that Corel Draw is not a Microsoft application so might be excluded from your survey if you are sticking to MS apps.

I wrote one or two macros in SaxBasic for SPSS. Although strictly speaking it's not VBA, the syntax is exactly the same.
Like CorelDraw mentioned in the previous reply, SPSS is not a Microsoft product, so you might want to exclude it.

    Re: proposed VBA poll (all)

    Excel: 60%
    Word: 40%
    Access: 0.5%
    VisualBasic: 0.5%

Just to clarify the point; the above are approximations (I can add). <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

Thanks Don. At this stage I'm still interested in knowing if I missed any out. I'll set up the poll in a day or two.

    MapPoint and Visio are both MS products, though. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

OK. I stand corrected. This thread is all about bringing me to the level of knowing what questions to ask (grin!)

<P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by chrisgreaves on 14-Feb-08 09:38. MapPoint, Visio, )</P>Thank you all for the response.
I'll issue the poll tomorrow (Friday).
    I'll make two polls on this pass " <font color=448800>I have ever used</font color=448800> " and " <font color=red>I have never used</font color=red> ", for <font color=blue>Microsoft applications</font color=blue> only .

I'll make a separate poll, later, for outside-MSoft. (To wit: Corel Draw, html, hta(?!??) vbs, SaxBasic and Lotus Notes).

I've seen Lotus Notes on a sheet of paper during a meeting, and appreciate that my VB skills would migrate directly across, so I imagine that "VB Skills" is a more appropriate heading for the fringe applications. In the long run, programming skills learned in, say, Word VBA migrate to, say, FORTRAN II, in areas such as "comment your code", "self-testing procedures" and "initialize your variables", but where do you draw the line between "VBA/VB programming" and "Very VB-like programming" (And before anyone replies "VISIO" I'm outa here!)
