    IE7 and SWF Files (IE7)

Is there some setting in IE7 that would disable SWF pages from loading -- without errors, just a blank page?

The link below load in Firefox (2) and runs, but not in IE.

I use IE7 Pro as well, but I tried it with that disabled (I believe) and no luck still.

    ??

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Do other web pages with Flash content work in IE7? (Your link works fine in IE7 for me)

    Hans:

Nothing showed up in the link you gave... but, after my browser closed without warning a couple time, I figured maybe it was a corrupt file.

    So I re-installed IE7.

When I went to that page again, it asked (and still does) if I want to open or download. I pick open, and I see files going to the TEMP folder, but then I just get the question again.

Do I need to repair my Win-XP install?

So you have problems viewing the link from my previous reply? That might indicate that you have a problem with JavaScript. On the other hand, Woody's Lounge uses JavaScript, it doesn't work correctly without it, so I'm puzzled. I don't know what to recommend, but I'd wait to see if others have suggestions before taking the drastic step of reinstalling Windows.

    Hans:

No, I'm sorry... I didn't have any issue with your previous link... it just didn't help...

But I just remembered that last night I went to a site of my friend's that has an animated gif,and the gif wouldn't run in the browser, and yet, when I clicked on the GIF just from my desktop, it "animated" fine...

So there's GOT to be something in the browser, doesn't there?

And if so, and re-installing it didn't fix it, what/how next?

Do you have a way to undo any changes that IE7Pro may have made? If it changed the registry just deactivating it won't revert the changes.

    Stabbing in the dark....
Do you have any kind of web accelerators installed? One that, for some reason, only affects IE.
I had one from my ISP that had an option todisplay GIFs as static pictures (first frame only).

    Guys:

I couldn't find anything even after your suggestions... so I went to a backup... Thank goodness for backups!

    Thanks,
    Chuck
