Adding Browse to IncludeText & similar (2003 sr2)

    Dear Loungers,

    1. Does anyone know of a utily that makes the Insert Filed interface a little more inteligent and friendly? what i am looking for is when inserting a field that refers to a file, such as INCLUDETEXT, having a way to browse to the file.

    2. Also I am trying to explain to a colleague how to specify an absolute file reference and realise that I didn't know the significance, and affect, of forward and backward slashes... I think that these two refeneces are equivalent:

    "Server01FolderAfile.doc" and "/Server01/FolderA/file.doc"

assuming that to be true are there reasons to use one format rather than the other?

    thanks..... liz

    1) I don't know of an existing utility; it would be possible to write a macro that displays a File dialog and inserts an INCLUDETEXT field, and assign it to a toolbar button. Post back if you want help with that.

    2) is used for absolute paths, / for relative paths - you wouldn't see /Server01/..., but /MySubfolder/file.doc or ../MySubfolder/file.doc.
