Re: Compressing pictures in Word (2003)

This dialog box doesn't tell you anything about the current picture resolution, and it seems to always default to Print.

    Compressing pictures in Word (2003)

    Hello,

I am in the Picture menu and clicking on the Compress Pictures button. I select Web/Screen in order to bring the dpi down to 96 and then I tick apply to "All pictures in document." Then I press okay and leave the window. When I reopen that same window, the tick is next to the entry "Print," (which is set to a resolution of 200 dpi). Did Word not change the dpi as I asked it to or does the tick always show up next to Print (200 dpi) even when the dpi was just reduced?

Thank you in advance for your help,

    JMT

I use "Image resizer" Powertoy from Microsoft which will resize the image to a choice of several sizes. Then insert this file into Word. You Word file will be much smaller.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
