    Configuration (Windows Vista)

When I turn my computer boots and automatically comes up to a page that reads "Configuring Updates Stage 3 of 3 - 0 % Complete Do Not Turn Off Your Computer" then after a little while, it shows "shutting down" and then it just keeps looping back through these two screens. How do I fix this? I have tried the F8 key to get to last good configuration but F8 does nothing.

    Re: Configuration (Windows Vista)

You wait until it is finished. It appears that some one installed SP1 and it is finishing up.

I am sure that once this finishes and you are logged in, you can go to Add and remove programs and see what version was installed.

If you have the RC version, you are going to have to uninstall it before the "Released version" can be installed.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

This appears to be a problem with this week's updates. Do you have your Windows Vista DVD? If so:
    - Boot your PC from the Vista DVD.
-Select the Repair Windows Vista option.
    - In the Recovery Options screen, select System Restore and choose a date before February 12, 2008.
When System Restore is complete, you should be able to get into Windows normally.

Important: turn off automatic updates, otherwise you'll end up with the same problem!
