Yahoo Finance posted an article from Reuters Saturday called Toshiba to give up on HD DVD, end format war.

I now have to "Speculate" on the longevity of using HD DVD in home computer systems for backup purposes (players and media tend to be cheaper - and I suspect will be even better prices in near future).

Immediate though is, for short term (less than 18-24 months), HD DVD would still be a valid choice, pending availability of recording media. I realize this is reactionary thinking - but I have several projects that I will need to decide on for customers in the next 2-3 weeks. I have already developed several strategies, but I thought I would get Loungers thoughts and opinions.

Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated.
