    mde vs accde (2007)

My database was created in access 2003. When compiled into a mde, the application worked as expected. It would also run under access runtime 2003. I have since updated the database to access 2007. I have made several changes to the database since updating. The problem I am having is with access runtime 2007. If I open the accdb file, the program runs fine. When I make an accde file and run it, the program quits working. I get an error message that says "The database is in an unrecognized format."
    Has any experienced this?
    Thanks,

Do you have Access 2007 SP1?

There is no SP1 for Access Runtime 2007 yet, as far as I know, and it doesn't recognize MDE or ACCDE databases created with Access 2007 SP1. Microsoft will probably come up with a solution eventually, but at this moment, you're stuck unless you can create the ACCDE database on a PC with Access 2007 pre SP1.

Do you see any problems with the users running the accdb in runtime?

I don't have Access 2007, but if I read MSKB article Error message when you try to open a compiled database file or a compiled project file in Access 2007: "This database is in an unrecognized format" correctly, the error only occurs with MDE/ACCDE databases created in SP1, not with MDB/ACCDB databases.
