    Password Protection (2003 SP2)

    Good evening

I have a workbook which is password protected, opend for update by a userform, and then re-protected when the cells have been updated, the workbook is also password protected, however it seems that anybody can push 'Alt F11' and see the macros which contain the passwords, am I missing something or is that normal?

    Cheers

Protecting a workbook or worksheet with a password doesn't protect the VBA code. You have to do that separately:
    - Activate the Visual Basic Editor.
    - Select Tools | <VBAProject> Properties...
    - Activate the Security tab.
    - Tick the check box "Lock project for viewing".
    - Enter the password that you want to use in both boxes.
    - Click OK.
    - Switch back to Excel.
    - Save and close the workbook.

    Thanks Hans

I did not realise that, I thought that the worksheet/workbook stuff did that, it was only when somebody else pointed it out that I posted the question <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15>

    Now I know!!
