    Image Printing Software

    Hi All
Can anyone recommend a handy printer tool - I have loads of digital elements (scrapbooking) and wish to create a printed catalogue of them to save trawling through mountains of folders. Some come with a large page ready for printing, but Windows XP Print Wizard wants to crop everything to fit the page!

I know I could put them in Word etc, but wondered if any of you knew of a handy little gadget that might do the job quicker?

    Thanks as ever

Have you checked your printer software's Preferences or Options ??? There is often a setting in the Page Setup area or tab that allows you to set it to print to fit the page.

There are quite a variety of image cataloging programs. I assume, but really haven't checked, that these also would let you print out the catalog (perhaps as a "contact sheet" if you want many on one page).

I would have liked really to print straight from Explorer thumbnail view, but this just kicks you into the wizard (as does Office Picture Manager which rotates or crops if you want a fit to page, and that overwrites the printer settings.

Am I losing the plot or is it so hard just to print a fit to page without having to put the image into another program (Word etc) first?

Try right clicking the file you want to print and selecting Print from the drop down menu. That should default to the printer and use it's software to print the image.

I know it's "another program" but http://www.irfanview.com/ is probably what you need. It doesn't have to import/catalogue images, it simply allows you to view any images in any folder. Its thumbnail viewer gives you an Explorer type view of images on your PC. You can print contact sheets of all the images in a folder, it will fit any image to your printers page. I'm not fully aware of all the BATch options it has but I' guess something there will let you print loads of images with only a few clicks.
