    ListBox Anomaly (Access 2k (SP-3))

Edited by HansV to crop picture to relevant part - please don't post pictures wider than 640 pixels.

This is the strangest thing. I have a list box that in this case contains 32 items. The list box displays 21 (of the 32) at a time. Scrolling through the list with the arrow keys, or with the scroll bar on the side of the list box, all things are fine. However, if scrolling using the wheel on the mouse, "blank" lines appear in the list box, AND these blank lines do contain data.

Has anyone ever experienced something of this nature? I have included a screen capture and hardware and software specs are listed below:
    Computer CPU specs
    Dell Latitude D420 laptop
    Intel Core Duo CPU
    U2500 @ 1.20 GHz
    1.20GHz, 0.99 GB RAM
    Physical Address Extension

    Video specs
Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family

    Mouse
Microsoft USB Mouse with ALPS touchpad drivers

    WindowsXP Service pack 2

    Microsoft Access 2000 (9.0.8961 SP-3)

My first guess would be a problem with or limitation of the video card.
Do you have the latest driver for your video card?

    You might try this:
    - Open the Display Properties control panel (either by right-clicking an empty part of the desktop and selecting Properties from the popup menu, or through Start | Control Panel)
    - Activate the Settings tab,
    - Click Advanced.
    - Activate the Troubleshoot tab.
    - Drag the Hardware acceleration slider a notch or two to the left.
    - OK your way out.
    - If that doesn't help, repeat.
    - If it doesn't help at all, you can restore the original setting.

    Hans,

Thanks for your feedback. I tried the steps, and had the same results. I used the MouseWheelHook from "http://www.lebans.com/mousewheelonoff.htm", which I had used a few years back to get the wheelmouse to scroll within a memo and not scroll through the records when in a memo field. Viola'. The problem went away. What was strange to me was the problem only showed up on the Office 2k version and not on the Office 2003 version. But incorporating the above made it go away in the 2k version.

    THANKS! !

(Sorry about the wide screen capture)

    Ken
