    Adding toolbars (Word 2007)

Is it possible to add a toolbar to Word 2007? We have pleading templates developed in Word 2003 with special styles and toolbars in the template.
When we use these templates in Word 2007 we don't get our special toolbar.
    Thanks.

Custom toolbars should appear in the Add-ins tab of the ribbon. Customizations to built-in toolbars are a bit more tricky since the old toolbars have been discarded.

But, even if customizing the toolbars is "a bit more tricky", is it possible?

If you convert your template to .dotm format, you can add a new ribbon section. You unzip the .dotm to a development folder, edit one of the many files to add your new ribbon section, and then rezip it for deployment. I edited a third party template last year to modify its ribbon, but having only done it once, the details did not stay with me. Still, it seemed pretty quick.

Do you mean add a ribbon that only shows when I use that template? Or customize the Quick Access Toolbar? I got the following from the Help menu.
    Things you can't do
Add to or rearrange the commands on the Ribbon
Change or remove a command or group on the Ribbon
Add tabs to the Ribbon, unless you use XML and programming code
Switch to the toolbars and menus from earlier versions of Microsoft Office

Yes, I was referring to the description that follows the word "unless."
