    Microsoft QMgr

I have just updated to MSN Messenger latest version. Unfortunately it has installed the Micorsoft QMgr. The file is LOADQM.EXE. It sits in Windows Startup and it loads every time you start Windows.

I am using a firewall and it tells me that it is trying to access the internet. I have checked the IP address, it belongs to Microsoft Update. When I disable it from startup, it is still trying to access the internet when I am online. The only way to disable it is to rename all its .dll. I suspect it is another of Windows spyware.

Can anyone tell me what information it is trying to send to Microsoft.

What I have read is "MSN Messenger " is checking to see if your freinds are on line wanting you to check in.
You should be able to turn this off in the Options and clear the check mark on the Preference tab, about Running when Windows starts.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

That sounds like the Microsoft Critical Update Notification trying to check if there are any critical updates that need to be applied to your system.

I have to disagree with you about Messenger checking to see if friends are on line wanting you to check in.

The site it is trying to access is Microsoft Windows Update IP address, 207.68.131.28:80 (http) TCP (given by my firewall).

Interesting enough is this notice at this site, which tells you what QMgr does.
