Try putting your employer's site in the Restricted zone (Tools, Internet Options, Security) to stop scripts and ActiveX from running. If this allows you to view the site, you might have a corrupted DLL or other component that wasn't updated with 5.5. I'm not sure what that might be, but at least it's a place to start.

I tried it. Here's what happened. With Security Level: HIGH, it did not even try to load - I just got a white screen (so I did not get the message). With Security Level Medium, I got the same bad behavior as before. Does this help diagnose the problem?

Bill, I had the same problem with Opera (my favourite browser) at one stage viewing my own site which was a tad embarrasing. During an update I removed some DHTML mouse over buttons that I had created with Frontpage, and replaced them with something new and the problem disappeared. I know the browser is different etc, but the cause could be similar. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Well, it says there's some active content on the page that's a problem. For kicks, try to open the page in Word. First go to Tools Options General and make sure you Confirm Conversions. Do File Open and enter the complete URL as the file name, then Enter. Choose Plain Text in the conversion box to see the source code. Maybe you can post anything that looks executable here. Or you could give us the URL.

I hate to ask you to risk another Illegal operation <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>, but would you check to see if you get the same problem at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.bpesp.com>http://www.bpesp.com</A> (website for BP Solar in Spain).
I ask because I had similar problems - see <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=ie&Number=30097&page=&view= &sb=&o=&vc=1>Post 30097</A> - and in the end came to the conclusion it was possibly a hardware issue.
What setup are you running on?
