    Default directory

    Does anyone know how to change the default directory in WinMe's Windows Explorer? In Win98 I simply added the required directory path to the end of the command line and it would open directly into my data directory (which is NOT 'my documents'), but when I do this in WinME it just opens a window with the contents of that directory and nothing else - and I want the full windows explorer, just defaulting to my data!

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Re: Default directory

    Try this:
    <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q130/5/10.ASP>Q130510</A> Command-Line Switches for Windows Explorer
    If you still have no joy, post the full path of what you want and we'll try and sort it out for you.

    This works for me:

    <pre>%SystemRoot%explorer.exe /E,"C:FILES"
    </pre>

    Many thanks, Legare and Leif <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    The /E switch was the actual one I wanted, but the kb article answered my next question, which was what does it mean and what other switches were available!

    Thanks again
