    Start IE7 (IE7, Vista)

I'm a confirmed Firefox user. My default browser is FF2. I have a need, however, to set up a shortcut that will:

    1- start IE7, and
2- have IE7 open a specific HTML file located on a local disk, probably in the same folder as the shortcut.

I will probably need to set up more than one such shortcut to open a number of different HTML files.

Is this possible? If yes, how do I go about it?

    Cheers,
    Regards,
    PaulB

You can create a shortcut with a target similar to

    "C:Program FilesInternet ExplorerIExplore.exe" "C:TestMyPage.htm"

You'd have to create an individual shortcut for each HTML file.

A better way might be to copy or create a shortcut to IE7 to your SendTo folder Cocuments and Settings<username>SendTo. This will add Internet Explorer to the Send To submenu in the right-click menu of files in Windows Explorer. This will let you open any HTML file in Internet Explorer.

I know Hans has given you the answer to your question, but something to consider would be the View in IE extension for Firefox which, when you have 'marked' a page, will open the link in IE even if you attempt to do it with Firefox as your default browser.

Thanks, Leif. I didn't realize that "View in IE" had that capability. I will explore this to see if it may provide a solution to my requirements.

    Cheers,
