Persistent page down or scroll down (Vista)

I sometimes encounter a problem where all applications - even web pages - seem to have a constant page down. In other words, I cannot scroll to the top of the page - soon as my cursor enters the screen, the page immediately goes to the bottom and I cannot go up. My only resolution is to run a spyware app and restart.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what is the fix?

Does the Spyware app pick up anything or is it the reboot itself that helps?

the spyware app identifies a number of things that I remove but it doesn't to make a difference. Only upon rebooting do I notice that it works correctly again.

If I may suggest? Go into the Device Manager and uninstall the mouse drivers then reboot....

Good idea. I will try that. now that you mention it, I am using the native Vista mouse driver with a Logitech wireless.. there might be a problem misinterpreting the mouse signals.

Why aren't you using the Logitech drivers?

Have you checked your batteries? Have you made sure that there is no obstruction between the mouse and the wireless base?

I wish I had a good answer for that. It is a fairly new computer and the mouse worked when I plugged in the USB base (it is wireless) so I guess I was lazy or forgetful. I have no installed the Logitech driver so I will see if this happens again. It happened a few times before but not with any regularity so I will observe it over time.

Joe, I did check the batteries and, in fact, changed them just in case they might have been weak. Now that I have the correct driver installed, it may have fixed the problem.
