Importing O Express (Vist Home Premium)

During setup I was using Outlook Express on my XP box.

Once i got Windows Mail set up, I wanted to import the messages, so I copied all the folders under Identities to a thumb drive.

But when I went into MiMail and seected import and went to the drivee, it couldn't see any of the messages. But it says it imports OExpress...

So what the heck did I do wrong this time?

Once again Chuck, Google to the rescue!!

    I really can't understand why you steadfastly refuse to use this tool ? <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15> <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    John:

    I apologize.

I thought I was doing exactly what was laid out. Evidently I was off a level or some such in my path, because I decided to try one more time, and this time it took.

The process is quite similar to importing into a "new" OE install, so the steps were (all too) familiar. But somehow I was making a mistake in the depth of my path, or some such.

I'll certainly try to be more attentive.

Now if you only had such a clean fix for my wireless connection issues, I'd be golden!

    Thanks again John,
    Chuck

    Hi Chuck,
Glad you got it sorted out <img src=/S/thumbup.gif border=0 alt=thumbup width=15 height=15> . Hopefully, someone can come up with something for the wireless problem.

One of the first things you ought to do when you have the system setup, functional, & backed up is look at Windows Live Mail - Overview. WLM is the OE & WM follow on. Despite the similarity in name, looks, and functionality it is new under the hood. Supposed to be much most stable particularly with the mail database.

I'll certainly take a look in the next day or so after I'm set up.

    Thanks,
