I got hit by Spector Professional "Realtime" Spyware running in StealthWare..removal tool password protected. Norton did not detect it, the offender emptied my entire Restore File, Outlook Express, passwords..yada...Started watching you intelligent people talking and have done 2 system restores, unloaded Norton, did 3 or 4 Search and Destroy. Norton had online storage a firewall of its own than windows.. 1. I have bought Spyware Doctor which is what the offending family member uses, so NO ONE CAN PUT SPYWARE IN HIS MACHINE..that takes care of the antivirus, I downloaded your Spyblaster 4.0 that I saw recommened to keep spyware out....So all I am running is SpywareDoctor with AntiVirus, SpywareBlaster 4.0, and have only a Window firewall..anyone have suggestions of removal tool yet, I even bought Regedit.. still no firewall... things are quiet , any suggestions for a Great Fire Wall ? I cant believe Windows XP firewall...will keep this guy out, he is stalking me and now a identity theft case... What are good products/layers of protection do you knowledeable people use use ?

I think "Spector Pro" is a paid product that normally would not make its way onto a PC unbidden. But I might be wrong; perhaps there is a cracked version floating around being used for nefarious purposes.

You should disconnect your computer from the internet for now. Use another computer to connect for downloads, email, etc., until you are confident that your system is clean or you rebuild it from scratch. If someone has been recording you, there's a good chance you will need to change a lot of online passwords, especially any financial related passwords such as online banking or credit card sites, and online stores. Assume that everything you have done for the past month was recorded and change all of those passwords.

If you are looking for an effective inbound-outbound firewall, consider ZoneAlarm. When you install it, you can turn off its "learning" mode so that it doesn't allow any programs to contact the internet until you explicitly approve them.
