    'No movement' setting? (SP2)

The screen saver and screen / disc shutdown kick in when there is 'no' mouse movement (or keyboard). One of our laptops will kick out of screen saver when there is no one in the room! Assuming that this is not a poltergeist I am wondering if there is a setting somewhere - perhaps in the registry - that defines how much noise from the mouse counts as 'no' movement?

Are you sure there is nothing running that may be updating the screen? - I have an idea this can be 'seen' as movement. Otherwise, you may have an overly sensitive touch-pad. If the awakening is consistent, you could try covering the touch-pad with something, or disabling it if you use a mouse, to see if that stops it.

If wireless mouse or another pointing device is installed, some of the services for these devices may interact with the screen saver.

See, for instance, The screen saver does not start after you install a wireless pointing device
