    Word Prompting to Update TOC (2003 sp3)

    Help!
    Word has started prompting me to update TOC page numbers or entire TOC everytime I do something in a document. For example, I am adding text to fields in a form. Every time I click into a field, I get the Word is Updating TOC prompt. How can I turn it off except for when I actually do want to update a TOC? This is driving me nuts!
