I am looking for, preferably free, software to convert Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) audio files to standard CDA audio files that I can burn onto a standard audio CD.

This month, every Windows Secrets subscriber can download a one-chapter excerpt of Windows 7: The Missing Manual.Windows 7: The Missing Manual provides valuable information to help you overcome these difficulties in learning a new operating system. Subscribe today to download your free excerpt.
Thanks Joe.
I also found FlacDrop, http://codecpack.nl/flacdrop.htm, where you simply drop *.flac files in the small window which then get converted to *.wav and vice versa automatically, very simple, no further settings.

Joe,
for playing the FLAC files I installed K-Lite Full Codec pack. Works perfectly with Windows Media Player on Vista.

Since WMP will play FLAC files, can you use any other WMP functionality to RIP individual tracks, burn a CD, etc?
Joe
Joe,
I never use(d) WMP to RIP&Burn. I either use Nero 7.0 or Exact Audio Copy, for both of which FLAC plugins exist.
The Nero plugin is mentioned under version 6.0 plugins, but seems to work in version 7.0. The FLAC for EAC is the standard FLAC plugin. You can find them here:
Nero: http://www.bitburners.com/category/softwar...-audio-plugins/ , look for FLAC
EAC: http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index....e=EAC_and_FLAC
