    Uninstalled Programs (Home Premium)

How can I remove a program from my list of programs that has been uninstalled? I've uninstalled programs that still show up on my current list. When I try to uninstall again a message shows up stating the file is unavailable.

Sometimes if you install the program again and then uninstall it, it will be cleared off the list within the Control Panel, Programs, Uninstall a program.

How can I reinstall a program if it has been uninstalled except for its name appearing in the list of programs?

Never having fooled with the registry, where do I enter what you recommended. I typed it in the search box and got nothing.

"How can I reinstall a program if it has been uninstalled except for its name appearing in the list of programs?"

Most people have the original source that the program was installed with, such as a CD, floppy, or the downloaded file.

Thanks Dave, but when I uninstalled the program I also deleted the files that were in my Downloads file. These were programs that were downloaded from the internet.

I have another problem. After doing some reading on how to get into the registry, I typed in regedit in the box at the bottom of the start menu. Instead of getting the registry editor, I got "Search Results In Indexed Locations". Now what?

Did you look at the top of the Start screen and you should see regedit.exe, id hi lighted just hit the enter key, if not, select "regedit.exe and then the enter key.

This is a search of the system, but is a special one, and it will search for all files including exe type.

I found no regedit.exe at the top of the menu so I entered it and got the same results as before "Search Results In Indexed Location" and it showed the file that was the reply that I received that I received from you in Outlook.

Is your account of the Standard group or the Admin Group?

Go to Control Panel, User Accounts and Family safety, Add or remove user accounts. There you will see what group your account is in.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
