indent second line in column (2007 sp1)

I want to create a long list of movie titles. I create it in Excel, alphabetize it and paste it into two columns in word. My problem is that when the movie title is too long for one line I can't get a slight indent on the second line. I can center it but that's too much. What am I doing wrong?

To set different first line and subsequent line indenting in Word, use Format>Paragraph. On the right side, change the Special drop-down to Hanging and set the indent you want for the subsequent lines.

You can also do this on the ruler, but if you set it using the dialog first, it will be more obvious how the little up-pointing and down-pointing triangles work.

To make the change global, edit the style definition for the style assigned to the list (perhaps Normal).

Hover the mouse pointer just above the first column; the mouse pointer should change to a black down arrow.
Click to select the entire first column.
    Select Format | Paragraph...
Select Hanging from the Special dropdown list, then specify the desired indent in the By box next to it.
    Click OK.

I guess I'm missing something here. When I go to the dialog box and pick hanging it just shoves everything out of the box creating a total mess. Can I send the file to you and can you send it back?

    You must do the following:
    - Set the table not to resize automatically to fit contents.
    - Set the column width to 3.25" (8.25cm) - currently the table column is wider than the text column.
    - Set the left indent to 0.
    - Set a hanging indent of (for example) 0.2" (0.5cm)

    See attached version.
